Implants for Chronic Conditions
Safe, customized dental implant protocols for patients with diabetes, hypertension, osteoporosis, and elderly health conditions.
Dental Implants for Medically Compromised Patients
Having diabetes, hypertension, osteoporosis, or heart disease does not mean you cannot regain a complete, functional smile. At Lime Tree Dental Hospital, we offer dedicated implant protocols specifically engineered for seniors and patients with underlying chronic systemic conditions.
Operating as a fully licensed dental hospital, our clinical environment features real-time vital sign monitoring, multidisciplinary medical coordination, and flapless computer-guided surgery designed to ensure maximum surgical safety and smooth osseointegration.
Customized Protocols for Specific Medical Conditions
- Diabetes Mellitus: Elevated HbA1c levels can impair peripheral healing. We utilize flapless 3D navigation to eliminate open surgical incisions, prescribe targeted prophylactic antibiotics, and use hydrophilic implant surfaces (e.g., Straumann SLActive) that accelerate bone integration.
- Hypertension & Cardiovascular History: Surgery is conducted under continuous pulse oximetry and blood pressure monitoring, utilizing epinephrine-free or low-concentration local anesthetics to prevent blood pressure fluctuations.
- Osteoporosis & Bisphosphonate Therapy: Thorough evaluation of anti-resorptive medications (bisphosphonates / Denosumab) to prevent medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw (MRONJ). We work closely with the patient's prescribing physician.
- Blood Thinners (Anticoagulants/Antiplatelets): Safe management of Aspirin, Warfarin, or DOAC medications without unnecessary medication withdrawal risks, relying on atraumatic surgical stents and localized hemostatic agents.
